-DARKSIDE MIRRORS-
At first glance, the sisters behind Darkside Mirrors blonde Lucy,a.k.a LucyMirror(Vocals, guitar) and brunette Junko,a.k.a Junk the Ripper(drums,"UFOContact")-look like Betty and Veronica ato the Monster Mash.
Or maybethey're secretly channeling the heroines of Mulholland Drive.
"We have seenall of David Lynch's films more than 100 times,"
says Junko. Psyches duly scarred, Lucy and Junko grew hungry to find a proper way to express theirdarkened world view.
Grabbing boys Death Joe on bass and kevin on Guitar,
thegirls formed themselves a garage band and christened it Darkside Mirrors.
After almost six years playing freak-outs and happenings around Tokyo,
theyfinally released their first album,STAY EVIL!!, in January of this year.

Darkside Mirrors may stun audiences with punky guitar noise,
Stooges-styleserch-and-destroy tactics, Cramps-ian '50s B-movie visual sense,
and the goodlooks of vampire seductresses, but the sisters also have big,
bubble-gum-pinkhearts underneath all the ghoulishness.
"We are obsessed with girl groups-but mostly
the darker ones like TheShangri-Las," say Junko.
Their music ultimately plays upon both sides of the
Alice in Wonderland motif:the cute outfits, and the terror of unintentional
psychedelic experience.Says Junko, "There is nothing scarier than the mysterious
reality of a nightmare or a bad trip!"
DARKSIDE MIRRORS'music may soud demonic,
but the sisters make the bad dream a very pleasant ride.
